Michael Chandler still hearing from Hoosiers

Big man Michael Chandler is putting off his campus visits until later in his upcoming senior year at Lawrence North (Indianapolis) and Tom Crean is hoping that one of this visits will be an hour south to Bloomington. The 6-10, 220 pound Indianapolis native is the #6-ranked center in the 2011 class according to Rivals, and they have him currently ranked as the overall #52 prospect. Indiana has already offered him a scholarship, as have Kentucky, Purdue, Illinois and Georgetown, though Chandler does not have any favorites at this time.
While Cody Zeller continues to be the top priority for Coach Crean's staff, Chandler would definitely be a solid addition for the Hoosiers. Zeller has spoke highly of IU throughout his recruitment whereas Chandler's recruitment seems to be still in the early stages (he originally committed to Louisiville in January 2009 but decommitted this spring). I, as many IU fans would agree, would rather have Zeller, but it's good to see Crean talking to all of the big name Indiana prospects. Chandler will be a good college player, but Zeller will be a better one.
