Jeremiah Davis transfers

Senior guard Jeremiah Davis is leaving Muncie Central High School for Huntington Prep in West Virginia. Davis, who holds a scholarship offer from Indiana and a number of other D1 schools, said that while basketball was a factor his reason for leaving was academics. "It's just a better opportunity to get me ready for college," he told reporters. Not too long ago, Davis was a hot commodity who looked to be very high on Indiana and Michigan State. However, talks between Davis and the IU staff have apparently cooled in the last few months as Crean and company have made other recruits a higher priority. In addition to picking up a commitment from Ron Patterson, Indiana is chasing in-state guards Yogi Ferrell and Gary Harris and St. Louis product BJ Young. My guess is that while Indiana has cooled on him and Michigan State has picked up four recruits in the last couple of weeks, Davis is off to the East Coast to play in front of new coaches and get his game back up to speed. Best of luck to Jeremiah wherever he ends up.
