BREAKING NEWS: Trey Lyles (2014) commits to IU

Trey Lyles, standout prospect in the class of 2014, has just committed to Indiana. Trey's father confirms the story to Kyle Neddenriep of the Indianapolis Star. Trey was quoted saying the following: Feel like (Indiana) is the best situation for me. Coach (Tom) Crean really recruited not just me, but my whole family." A 6'9 incoming freshman at Tech HS in Indianapolis, Lyles is considered to not only be one of the best 2014 prospects in the state, but in the entire country. He joins fellow in-state standout James Blackmon Jr. in Indiana's 2014 recruiting class. Tom Crean is really flexing his muscles within the Indiana borders. He has gotten two verbals from huge 2014 prospects, and is hosting the top players from the older classes each and every weekend. Yogi Ferrell and Hanner Perea were in town for the football game yesterday, and top prospects Gary Harris and Jeremy Hollowell should be in Bloomington for the IU/Michigan game next weekend. Things are definitely looking up for this program.
Stay tuned for more updates!

  1. A big part of the reason Purdue overtook IU in Indiana was because they were able to steal local recruits under the Sampson fiasco. Sounds like Crean's getting the job done at home.
