Naadir Tharpe to Kansas

Former IU target Naadir Tharpe (#91 Rivals150) has committed to the Kansas Jayhawks. Tharpe becomes Bill Self's first verbal commitment for the class of 2011, and comes less than a month after missing out on top target Josiah Turner (#10, commited to Arizona). Tharpe is a 4* prospect and is the kind of guy that could very well stay in Lawrence for the full four years and be a solid contributer. Tharpe plays for Brewster Prep Academy in New Hampshire alongside a number of D1 prospects, including Durand Johnson, Richard Peters, Ge'Lawn Guyn, Elijah Carter, Deonte Burton and IU target Mitch McGary
