Michael Chandler decommits from Xavier

Xavier came into signing day expecting a LOI from Indianapolis prospect Michael Chandler. However, Chandler decided not to sign and will apparently be breaking ties with the university. Rivals' Jerry Meyer states that Chandler is done with Xavier and is considering UConn, Oregon and Providence right now. There was once talk that Chandler was looking to play college ball with Aurora (IL) prospect Ryan Boatright, who recently committed to UConn after decommitting from West Virginia. That fact has the experts placing UConn as the current leader for Chandler.

Chandler originally committed to Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals before reopening his recruitment. There was talk that he may be a back-up plan for Tom Crean should Cody Zeller end up somewhere else, but there have also been a lot rumors spreading that his grades may not be good enough for him to qualify anywhere. Chandler is ranked number #47 overall by Rivals and plays for Lawrence North HS in Indianapolis.
