Hoosier Basketball Recruiting Roundup released it's updated recruit lists for the 2012 top 75 and the 2013 top 35. Some notables from 2012 include IU commits Hanner Perea (5*, overall #16, PF #4), Yogi Ferrell (5*, overall #20, PG #3), and Ron Patterson (4*, overall #63, SG #11). Coach Crean is still targeting a couple other players in the top 25, most importantly in-state recruits Gary Harris (5*, overall #14, SG #2) and Jeremy Hollowell (5*, overall #23, SF #3). Some have speculated that Harris may commit to the Hoosiers before the year is over and that Hollowell may be the odd man out in the recruiting class. No matter how things shake out with those two prospects, Tom Crean has assembled a remarkable 2012 class, which also includes 3* center Peter Jurkin, and has already received verbal commitments from big time players in 2013 and 2014. The 2013 top 35 on Scout features both of Crean's commitments: Collin Hartman (4*, overall #24, SF #4) and Devin Davis Jr. (4*, overall #32, SF #9).

Also on the list is IU target Zak Irvin (4*, overall #25, SG #7) who plays at Hamilton Southeastern with Gary Harris. The most impressive thing with Tom Crean's recruiting run is that he has been able to bring in all top-level talent while remaining within the Indiana borders. Jurkin is the only current commit that does not play his high school ball in Indiana, but he spends his summers play AAU for the Bloomington-based Indiana Elite. The top prospects in the state have gravitated towards the IE program, and in turn have been committing to the Hoosiers. Perea, Ferrell, Patterson, and Jurkin all play for the AAU team, as do 2011 signees Austin Etherington (4*, SF #26) and Cody Zeller (5*, overall #17, PF #5).
