Hoosier tidbits 12/21/10

* SLAM Magazine has named IU forward Christian Watford to their list of "Super Sophs." C-Wat comes in at #8 in their top 10 and is the only player from the Big Ten to make the cut. Watford is averaging 18.3 pts (leads team), 5.6 reb (leads team), and 1.9 ast (third on team) per game this season.

*2014 prospect Jaquan Lyle (Evansville Bosse) recently tweeted before a game against Cody Zeller's Washington Hatchets that he was going to play against his future teammate (in reference to Cody). The tweet caused minor controversy and resulted in Lyle's account being deleted. His coach noted that Jaquan is a bit of a joker and that people should not read too much into the tweet.

* Jeremiah Rivers has been having a great senior season, playing within himself and not trying to do as much offensively as he did last year. He has really locked down on defense and developed a solid free throw shot (his .875 FT percentage is second on the team to Matt Roth's 1.000). However, Jeremiah appeared to badly roll his ankle during Sunday's win against South Carolina State. The injury did not look promising, as Rivers had to be helped off the court and did not put any weight down on the ankle, but he made the trip to Las Vegas that night with the rest of his teammates. No official word yet from the team as to whether or not he will play in Vegas or how long he may be out for.
