Happy 2011 Everyone!

Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season and are as excited about the future of the Hoosier basketball program as we are. Indiana fought hard Tuesday night and almost pulled the upset against Minnesota at the Barn, one of the tougher buildings to play at in the conference. Looking forward, Tuesday's effort should make Hoosiers fans more optimistic for the next two games. Sunday the boys will be in Evanston to take on a struggling Northwestern team, who without leading scorer Jon Shurna playing at 100% have gotten off to a rough start in conference play. Then the Hoosiers will come back home to take on a beatable Michigan Wolverines squad that is 1-2 in conference and will be coming off back to back games against the #3 Kansas Jayhawks and #2 Ohio State Buckeyes. Both of those will tough home games for the maize and blue and could possibly extend their losing streak to three as they travel to Bloomington.

2011 is the year that prized recruit Cody Zeller will graduate from Washington High School and make his highly anticipated debut in the cream and crimson...

2011 also brings Austin Etherington, a Hoosier team with another full year of Big Ten experience under their belt, and hopefully a new swagger and culture of winning in Bloomington. The Hoosiers have been through the worst of times and things can only go up from here.

There is a lot to look forward to this year if you are a Hoosier football fan, as well. New head coach Kevin Wilson is assembling an all-star coaching staff: co-defensive coordinators Mike Ekeler and Doug Mallory, offensive coordinator Brent Pease, special teams coordinator Mark Hagen, and position coaches Kevin James (quarterbacks) and Corey Raymond (cornerbacks). We should expect to hear about more hires in the near future, as several key positions still remain unfilled.

We at the Hoosier Source welcome 2011 with open arms and are expecting BIG things from the Hoosiers! You should all expect big things from us, as well, as we expand our coverage to accommodate more than just Indiana basketball fans. As an IU graduate, the Hoosiers will always be my team. But college basketball as a whole is my passion and you will soon be introduced to the new and improved Windy City Source. We will cover all of the Big Ten programs, as well as a number of other Chicago-area universities with large alumni bases in the great city of Chicago. If you only care about the Hoosiers (I don't blame you if you do!), this site will always be there for you. Operations on the Windy City Hoosier Source will continue, as usual. The new Windy City Source site will be maintained side-by-side with this site and will feature everything that is posted here. So if you want to read about your Hoosiers while getting plenty of GREAT recruiting information on Chicagoland prospects and other schools in the area, the new site will be perfect for you!

I apologize for the lack of posting of late, but having two jobs and trying to build up a whole new site on the side has caused me to neglect you guys a bit. Plus, there hasn't been a whole lot of recruiting news surrounding the Hoosiers in the past weeks. But please keep reading, and when the new site is up be sure to check that out! I'm back and will post with more frequency and will also keep you all updated on the other site. Thank you all for your continued support and I am so looking forward to this coming year!!!!!
