Jeremy Hollowell commits to Indiana

Rivals.com
Indianapolis star SF Jeremy Hollowell has become the fifth member of a star-studded 2012 recruiting class for the Hoosiers. Hollowell made the decision at a press conference at Lawrence Central, his high school, at about 3:30 EST this afternoon. Jeremy was also considering Purdue, Ohio State and Cincinnati going into today. Tom Crean and his staff have assembled an unbelievable run of recruiting success in the last six months. Hollowell joins five-star prospects Yogi Ferrell and Hanner Perea, fellow four-star Ron Patterson, and top150 center Peter Jurkin in one is undoubtedly the top recruiting class in the country. Rivals.com lists Hollowell as the #39 overall prospect and #9 small forward in the country. New rankings should be released soon, so there is a chance that he may even move up.

It is worth noting that Tom Crean had 12 basketball visitors in Bloomington for the IU/Michigan football game back on Oct. 2. As of right now, 11 of those 12 recruits have either verbally committed or signed with the Hoosiers. Crean sold these players on rebuilding the Indiana basketball program together and so far they have all bought into it. Austin Etherington and Cody Zeller become the first wave of recruits coming to campus next year and in 2012 the monster class will arrive. The only recruit that has yet to commit from that group is Hamilton Southeastern star Gary Harris. Harris is high on the Hoosiers but is taking his recruitment slowly. Most experts believe that Harris will not make a decision until next fall, after having a chance to make official visits. This timeline would be very similar to that of Cody Zeller, who made his commitment to Indiana on signing day in November after making his three visits. Hollowell stated after his announcement today that he will get to work recruiting Harris to IU.
