Zeller and Ferrell advance to state finals

Washington senior big man Cody Zeller and Park Tudor junior point guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell each led their teams to the Indiana state finals with big semi-state wins this past Saturday at Seymour. In the first game, Ferrel lead the Panthers with 25 points and 7 assists as they beat Forest Park 57-45. 2014 stud Trevon Bluiett pitched in 16 points in the victory. The freshman holds an offer from Tom Crean and the Hoosiers. In the second game, Cody Zeller's Hatchets beat Batesville 66-48. Zeller filled up the stat sheet, racking up 23 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. The dominating performance secured Washington (23-4) a spot in the 3A State Championship game where they will face Culver Academies (19-6) in an attempt to win back-to-back state titles. While Cody's older brothers Tyler and Luke were able to win state with Washington, neither of them won it more than once. All four state championship games will be played at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, with the 1A game tipping at 10:30 a EST. Park Tudor (25-2) will face Hammond Bishop Noll (26-0) in the second game for the 2A state title.
