Zeller and Ferrell are state champs

2011 Indiana signee Cody Zeller led his Washington Hatchets to their third state title in his four years. The senior center scored 20 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in the 61-46 victory over Culver Academies. The Zeller family has led Washington to four state titles in seven years, and now Cody has been a part of three of those.

While Washington grabbed the 3A title in the afternoon, 2012 Indiana verbal Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell was in action as his Park Tudor Panthers played in their second straight 2A title game. Led by Ferrell and freshman standout Trevon Bluiett, the Panthers avenged last year's loss by beating Bishop Noll 43-42. Yogi had 14 point, 6 assists and 5 rebounds, while Bluiett racked up 21 points and 8 boards.

Both games took place at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis and several current Hoosiers, including Jordan Hulls, Maurice Creek and the Crean family, were in attendance. Hulls' alma mater Bloomington South went on to win the 4A title with a 56-42 victory over Kokomo.
