Indiana's single-game opponents for 2011-12

The Big Ten announced each school's the single-game opponents for the 2011-12 basketball season on Thursday. Adding Nebraska to the conference means that each team will play 7 teams twice and 4 teams once.

Indiana's single-game opponents are:

At home: Illinois and Northwestern
On the road: Wisconsin and Nebraska

This means that the Hoosiers will play Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, and Purdue twice this upcoming season. This year would have been a good year to get Ohio State as a single-game opponent at home (Iowa and Minnesota have that honor) as the Buckeyes look to be the favorite in the conference.

Avoiding trips to Champaign and Evanston will be nice, as the Hoosiers haven't won at either of those places since the 2007-2008 season. The Hoosiers played what was possibly their worst game of the season at Illinois last year, getting dominated 72-48. Fortunately, the lasting image of the 2010-2011 season for Hoosier fans will be upsetting the ranked Illini in Bloomington and the ensuing celebration.
